• Be in possession of a Grade 10 / Standard 8 / Equivalent NQF Level
• Be in possession of Drill Rig Operator Certificate and License (Certificate of Competency)
• Have experience in a production or mining environment and basic development principles
• Be highly motivated and be a self-starter
• The incumbent will be required to work shifts
• The post is dependent on successful completion of the Company’s pre-employment protocol such as qualifications verification, relevant psychometric assessments and clear security clearance
• Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

• Does a pre-use inspection of the Drill Rig by means of a checklist and report deficiencies to Supervisor / Mining Supervisor
• Drill rig operators are responsible for the operation of single and / or double boom-drilling rig for underground development mining with the installation of ground support
• Assist to do basic repairs on equipment
• Achieve production targets through safe and effective operation of the Drill Rig
• Comply with Company’s standards, policies, procedures and safety initiatives
• Effective self-management in alignment with Sibanye Stillwater values
• Ensure effective utilization of equipment
• Perform all duties related to the position
