Be in possession of a Grade 10 / Standard 8 / Equivalent NQF Level
Be in possession of Drill Rig Operator Certificate and License (Certificate of Competency)
Have experience in a production or mining environment and basic development principles
Be highly motivated and be a self-starter
The incumbent will be required to work shifts
The post is dependent on successful completion of the Company’s pre-employment protocol such as qualifications verification, relevant psychometric assessments and clear security clearance
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre
Key responsibilities:
Does a pre-use inspection of the Drill Rig by means of a checklist and report deficiencies to Supervisor / Mining Supervisor
Drill rig operators are responsible for the operation of single and / or double boom-drilling rig for underground development mining with the installation of ground support
Assist to do basic repairs on equipment
Achieve production targets through safe and effective operation of the Drill Rig
Comply with Company’s standards, policies, procedures and safety initiatives
Effective self-management in alignment with Sibanye Stillwater values
