Key Output
- Assist a mechanic / technician in servicing and repair machines and / or components to OEM standards and customer requirements while maintaining an orderly and safe workplace.
- Assist the mechanic(s) in performing moderate to complex maintenance and repair work on machines and / or components
- Know which tools are used for which jobs and ensure the mechanic / technician has them within reach
- Clean and maintain facilities and equipment
- Assist artisan to obtain and check parts for particular job
- Maintain a safe and orderly workplace
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
- Minimum Grade GG12/Matric
- Ability to obtain certification as forklift operator within 90 days of appointment
- Ability to obtain certification as overhead / jib crane operator within 90 days of appointment
- Ability to follow instructions under supervision
- Driver’s licence – Code B will be an added advantage
- Verbal comprehension, Physical resilience
- Aiming (hand-eye coordination)
