Job Description
-As an Electrician at our Sishen Mine, you are expected maintain and test all equipment / machinery to ensure functionality, safety, reliability and availability to complete jobs within the specified timeframe and budgetary limit.
Some of the other responsibilities include:
- Maintenance of efficiency, which includes installations, commissioning of equipment are maintained as specified in the strategy
- Providing advice in all maintenance related matters and ad hoc jobs to all concerned parties in a pro-active manner aligned with best practices and within agreed upon timeframes to avoid possible problems and uplift competence base
- Providing assistance according to own level / area of competence and in accordance with company policies to the Supervisor and co-workers when instructed or during the absence of the responsible person, to ensure achievement of functional objectives
- Ensuring information provided is accurate and understandable, provide regular feedback and monitor progress to successfully develop and equip learners / team members with the necessary competencies
- Ensuring Learners under your supervision adhere to all relevant safety standards & procedures
- Perform standby duty’s
- Be willing to work overtime when requested/needed
This role is in the Engineering department at a J4/2 level reporting to the Engineering Supervisor
Qualifications
-You will need to have the following:
- Grade 12 Certificate / N3 Technical
- N2
- Qualified/Relevant Trade Certificate as an Artisan (Electrician)
- Valid Driver’s license
- Medium Voltage (MV) Certificate will be advantageous
