JOB DESCRIPTION :
The Fitters department currently has a vacancy for a committed, hands-on, attentive to detail, dedicated individual to join their team.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide support to the department and Artisans with routine and preventative maintenance
- Provide support and assistance with repairs on various equipment and machines
- Assist in mechanical assembly
- Assist with tools and lubrication of machinery
- Demonstrate basic mechanical knowledge
- Housekeeping of the workshop and various work areas
- Abide by the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Other ad hoc duties as assign by the Department Supervisor, Team Leader or Engineering Manager
QUALIFYING CRITERIA :
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Minimum of N3 or proven interest in obtaining trade test qualification in Fitting
- Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience within the engineering or metal industry
- Knowledge and use of power tools
- Strength to handle materials and tools (physically fit)
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Hands on practical approach to the job
- Safety awareness and consciousness
