Job Description
-The Electrician’s role within Polokwane Smelters is focused on the maintenance, installation and commissioning of electrical components related to machinery and equipment to an agreed standard in the area of responsibility.
You will be responsible for:
- Attending and conducting Safety meetings
- Conducting and participating in Risk assessments
- Attending to Breakdowns and emergencies as required
- Ensuring that material, spares and equipment are available as required
- Ensuring compliance to environmental requirements
- Exercising judgment with regards to replacement of components
- Maintaining a high quality and standard of work
- Keeping an accurate record of results for all legal examinations
- Ensuring prioritization of business-critical tasks pertaining to Electrical work conducted
This role is in the Engineering Department at a C2 level reporting to the Electrical Foreman.
Qualifications
-You must have the following. Please attach your certificates:
- Grade 12 and Technical Trade Specific N2
- Electrician Trade Certificate
- Medium Voltage Certificate if required at the site
