MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
A recognized Trade Test Certificate as Electrician
Wireman’s license (Category 2: installation Electrician)
Qualifications in ORHVS Modules (1-10)
Certificate undertaking MV joining
3 years’ operational and maintenance experience on medium voltage electrical distribution and reticulation
equipment
Valid code B or higher driver licence
Physically fit and health
Computer Literacy
Effective communication skills in at least two of the three Western Cape official languages
Physically fit and healthy
Prepared to work safely above ground levels i.e should not be afraid of heights and willing to climb ladders
Willing and prepared to work overtime and standby duties
Effective communication skills in at least two of the three Western Cape official languages
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Maintaining, constructing, installing and commissioning of the electrical network of Knysna municipal area
Draw electrical flow diagrams
Inspect electrical motor central panels and equipment
Assist with commissioning of electrical Infrastructure
Maintain telemetry work
Maintain other electrical infrastructure such as cameras, repeater stations, switch over panels, inverters, back
up batteries and telemetry systems
Assist Fitter and Millwright with electricity requirements
Undertake inspections of electrical installations and report on findings in respect of guidelines provided
Responsible for on-site Occupational Health and Safety and Supervision of Labour
Perform overtime and standby duties on a roster basis
