Job Advert Summary
Reporting to the Process Supervisor Water Purification, the successful candidate will be responsible for the monitoring of main pumps, pumps outputs, destination station, pump efficiencies and to capture all information as required by the Senior Process Supervisor Operations for compilation of daily and monthly reports.
Minimum Requirements
• Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) • NQF Level 4 or N3 in Water and Waste Water Treatment • National Diploma or Degree in Water Care will be an advantage • 3 years’ water purification plant experience • Computer literacy • Class IV Process Controller Classification • A valid Code B driver’s license with the ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 driver test
Primary Duties
The critical functions will include: • Starting and stopping of pumps, following the required operations procedure. • Opening and closing of valves. • Perform inspection for any leaks or other abnormalities. • Monitoring of pump performance and taking daily readings • Reporting defects on the plant on time to ensure maximum plant availability • Ensure the working environment is safe and comply with occupational health and safety regulations. • Ensure the ISO 9001 requirement are met and complied with at all times.
Knowledge
• Operating of HV and LV electrical equipment and large pumping units • Basic knowledge of OHS Act and its applications • Basic knowledge and application of ISO 14000 and ISO 9001
