PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To safely install, maintain and repair electrical systems, equipment, and machinery.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12/ STD 10 / NQF Level 4 is essential
- A recognised relevant Trade qualification (Section 13 or 26D) is essential
OR
- Proof of recognised completed apprenticeship (completed by means of effluxion of time)
AND
- NTC 2 (relevant four subjects) essential
- Completed MQA Medium Voltage Skills Modules is essential
- Minimum of 3 years working experience as an Artisan is essential
- Valid Code 8 drivers licence (essential and be able to attend to callouts)
- A Valid Red Ticket or medical fitness in order to obtain such a certificate
- Minimum 2 years experience is essential on the following:
- MV (33 kV & 6.6 kV) cable installation, termination, fault finding & repairs
- Construction, installation, operation, and maintenance of MV electrical networks
including switchgear
- Substation maintenance
- MV testing equipment
- Conveyor maintenance and repairs
- Maintenance and repairs of overhead cranes
