PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of the Sorting Technician is to responsible for the operation, maintenance and repairs of electrical and mechanical sorting equipment onsite.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Maintain equipment to not exceed OEM specifications.
- Inspect machines for faults and report on and repair faulty conditions.
- Minimize operational downtime through the safe and efficient operation of the equipment
- Ensure product quality through ongoing testing on equipment, and the implementation of corrective action where necessary;`
- Conduct pre and post sampling process to determine percentage defect removal for different types of defects (critical, majors and minors)
- Draw and record spares and breakdown details through SAP.
- Update and review critical spares requirements and report to Team Leader and Superintendent
- Complete all necessary paperwork related to equipment performance
- Ensure maintenance work is completed to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Ensure sorting area including equipment is in good stead.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum N4 nated qualification
- Valid trade test certificate ( Millwright)
- 5 years experience in manufacturing environment
- At least 1 year experience in a similar role will be advantageous
- Strong mechanical reasoning and problem solving skills
- Strong attention to detail in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task to simultaneously complete several projects on strict deadlines.
