he main responsibilities of this job are:
- Perform proper fault finding, investigate and assess breakdown, and think beyond the fix.
- Perform proper internal and external resource planning, and also identify spares and tools requirements.
- Execute assigned breakdown and opportunity maintenance tasks and comply with breakdown repair/ opportunity maintenance schedule.
- Report and communicate plant defects and/or abnormalities observed whilst repairing equipment.
- Report downtime details to the foreman.
- Complete the Artisan shift report per section.
- Compliance with the daily plan, section checks and report plant defects and/ or abnormalities.
- Provide feedback on schedules (PM13, 14 & 18) content applicability.
- Review BPs used and provide updated requirements.
- Assist production personnel with the isolation process where required.
- Perform a 60-second risk assessment as per Sappi policy.
- Perform tasks as per generally accepted engineering practices.
- Housekeeping and working areas should be cleaned after the completion of work.
- Support the Mill BBS program.
- Report unsafe conditions and acts.
- Comply with work order business process by raising notifications, drawing own unplanned spares, confirming works orders, signing off best practices and creating works orders.
- Work Shifts as required
The ideal candidate should have:
- Grade 12 and N3 Engineering
- Recognised Trade Test Certificate as Instrument Mechanician
- 2 Years of post-apprenticeship experience with a focus on instrumentation fault finding in an industrial environment would be advantageous
- SAP knowledge and proficiency with SAP PM will be advantageous
- Valid driving license.
