Role summary
The main responsibility of this role is HVAC and refrigeration in addition the incumbent will perform repairs,
maintenance and installation of mechanical machinery and equipment
Key work output and accountabilities
Manufacturing of simple parts as required from time-to-time, with the equipment available, within safe
limits and conditions.
Monitoring and quality control of all contractor work carried out on hospital equipment for refrigeration,
air-conditioning, vacuum, medical gas, autoclave, boiler, hot and cold water systems.
Reporting on the condition and functionality of the plant and machinery.
Maintaining of full and accurate records for all maintenance work and services undertaken on plant and
equipment under this position’s control.

Essential
National Trade Diploma
NQF Level 5 Engineering Qualification or higher
Work experience
Essential
Three year post qualification experience in a mechanical environment, including but not limited to air-
conditioning, welding, fitting and turning and boilers/geysers or;
Experience in HVAC and refrigeration is advantageous
Computer literate – MS Office (Word and Excel)
