Key Output
- Do cutting and profile cutting with oxyacetylene cutting process
- Remove portions of components (i.e., remove adaptor from cutting edge) with air-arc gouging process
- Provide sound welds in gas-metal arc (CO2) and shield metal arc (stick) welding in the 6G positions
- Assemble components such as buckets, bowls and blades dimensionally correct as per OEM drawings
- Effective self-management and performance ownership
- Use correct tooling to repair broken and bent components
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
- Qualified in relevant trade (Boilermaker).
- Minimum 2 years work experience after qualification (Post apprenticeship).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with Caterpillar GET.
- Medically fit for the position.
- Driver’s Licence – Code B.
- Grade 12.
- Spatial visualization (linked to assembling).
- Must be able to interpret drawings.
- Must be able to use FCAW welding process.
- Mechanical ability, Hand-eye coordination (Aiming).
- Teamwork, Verbal, and written communication skill
