Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:
- Routine inspection of equipment, machinery, DB’s and MCC’s
- Assist in planning of mechanical and electrical modifications and installations
- Report and repair defects and problems before breakdowns
- Completion of Electrical Operational Registers
- Repairs and maintenance to machinery and equipment
- Installation of electrical equipment and components
- Regular inspections, condition monitoring, fault finding and preventative maintenance
- Setting, maintenance and storage of critical machine parts
- Perform any ad-hoc / routine tasks in the department as needed
- Ensure adherence to electrical installation regulations and procedures
- Maintain effective housekeeping and health and safety practices
- Active involvement in the department’s Empowering Excellence (E²) initiatives
The successful candidate must have the following qualifications/experience/skills/attributes:
- Minimum qualification of N3 as well as an Electrical Trade Test certificate
- Millwright trade test certificate will be highly advantageous
- A minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience in a FMCG environment
- Sound knowledge of mechanical equipment, electrical panels and PLC’s
- Must be self-motivated and able to work without supervision
- Able to be responsible and make decisions under pressure
- Good communication skills
- Computer literacy (MS Office suite)
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and overtime if necessary, including call outs
- Valid code EB(Code 08) drivers licence
- Must have, or have access to, own reliable transport
- Punctuality and attendance reliability
