Introduction
Bureau Veritas Inspectorate Laboratories (Pty) Ltd is recruiting a Maintenance Assistant on intermittent basis contract. The position is based in Richards Bay with responsibility also at Durban, Saldanha & Tendele mine, and reporting to the maintenance specialist.
Minimum Requirements and Skills
- Matric with mathematics and science passed.
- Preferably a tertiary qualification in electrical & mechanical engineering
- Minimum 1 year instrument maintenance experience
- 1 year lab experience and working knowledge of laboratory instruments and equipment
- Knowledge of safety standards related to equipment and instruments
- Computer proficient in Excel, MSWord and Outlook
- Driver’s license and driving
- Medically and physically able to work in an industrial environment
- Knowledge of SANAS 17025 requirements
- Flexibility to travel nationally from time to time when needed.
Responsibilities
- Conduct preventative maintenance on laboratory and preparation equipment as per schedule.
- Ensure maintenance records are kept up to date.
- Assist and attend to instrument and equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime.
- Assist with asset inventory management.
- Follow all reasonable instructions given by Management of Bureau Veritas.
