About the Role
The Site Services Technician will be responsible for carrying out of break down maintenance, planned maintenance and new installations/project work at our plant.
Who You Are
- Must have Matric and be in possession of a valid Fitter / Airconditioning and Refrigeration Trade and should have successfully completed an apprenticeship in any of these trades.
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience (Fitter/Airconditioning) gained in a related industrial environment with exposure to the maintenance and operation of air conditioning, dust extraction, boilers, cooling water and compressor systems.
- A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a Supervisory capacity at a same or similar role you are applying for (preferably in a manufacturing environment).
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the OHS Act.
What You Will Do
- Ensure the necessary planned maintenance, lubrication, machine checks and breakdown repairs are performed to the highest standard so the plant can run at highest possible efficiency.
- Liaise with contractors/service providers for maintenance, repairs and installation relating to equipment under responsibility.
- Supervise and/or implement minor project work onsite with the guidance and direction of the Initiative Manager.
- Appointed as G.M.R. 2.7(a) assistant to the designated supervisor of machinery in terms of the OHS Act.
- Responsible for ensuring that all activities associated to the functions under your control are compliant with the OHS Act, including the relevant ISO and SANS standards adopted at the time.
