Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for a Maintenance Technician for their Cape Town Head Office. You will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of equipment in warehouse environment, including but not limited to: conveyor belt systems, roller shutters, plumbing, electrical, lighting and fire detection equipment.
Minimum Requirements:
Essential:
- Grade 12/ Matric
- 1 – 2 years’ relevant experience as a Maintenance Technician
Advantageous:
- Relevant Plumbing / Maintenance Qualification
- Relevant experience in a Warehouse environment
Job Specification:
- Coordinate the general maintenance and repairs at the premises (both equipment and facilities).
- Respond in a fast and efficient manner to equipment breakdown or facilities repair/maintenance.
- Be responsible for first-line trouble shooting in terms of repairs and facilities including, but not limited to: plumbing, electrical, welding and general repairs.
- Analyse relevant maintenance/repair requirement and identify appropriate tools, materials and/or technical support required for repair.
- Be responsible for arranging external technical support from approved service providers as required.
- Adhere to Health and Safety regulations by assisting in setting up ventilation and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary.
- Adhere to Health and Safety regulations by ensuring that all defects are repaired in a timely manner and are left in a safe condition.
- To develop a maintenance schedule for:
o Conveyor systems
o Lifts and hoists
o Roller doors
o Fire fighting equipment
o Alarms
o CCTV systems
