Qualifications:
Formal qualifications:
- Grade 12 / N3 / Equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification with mathematics and Science
- Trade Certificate: Millwright (Fitting & Electrical)
Additional requirements:
- 3 years’ experience as a certified Millwright within the mining or heavy industrial sectors
- Valid EB/Code 8 Drivers License
- Computer Literacy
- Medical Certificate of Fitness to work underground (incl. No colour blindness, Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces)
- The post is dependent on the successful completion of the Company’s pre-employment protocol such as qualifications’ verification, relevant psychometric assessments, and a clear security clearance
Role-specific knowledge:
- A sound knowledge of hydraulic systems as these pertain to a heavy mechanical plant
- Sound knowledge in the maintenance, repairs and fault finding of the following equipment: Motor protection systems, Electrical safety and switching devices and practices, Generators, Pumps, LT Substations, Simocode, V.S.D., Power circuits and Power transformers
- Skills to troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical systems and major equipment within area of responsibility
