Overview
Assembly operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operating of the automated assembly lines, ensuring that the product that is released to customers conforms to minimum quality specification, whilst meeting minimum safety, quality and operational targets. The role is based at the BME’s Losberg plant in Fochville
.Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Certificate in a relevant production related qualification.
Experience
- 3 year demonstrated experience in the assembly and packaging of explosives accessories through the use of an automated assembly line. * 1 year demonstrated experience in the application of the required occupational health and safety standards within an explosives environment.
Competencies
Job Knowledge: * Ability to work with human machine interfaces/basic computer skills to effectively control an automated assembly line * Alert and quick to respond to assembly machine alarm conditions or process upset conditions. * Proven ability to meet safety, quality and operational requirements. * Ability to perform duties in a standing position for majority of shift.
