Position Purpose:
Responsible for deploying Shore Tension units and operational maintenance of Shore Tension.
Position outputs:
- Transport units between berths with crane truck or forklift.
- Deploy units for operations on vessels.
- Check and top up power pack with diesel
- Check and top up power pack with hydraulic oil
- Ensure power pack hydraulic pipes are stowed correctly
- Ensure units valves are operated as per work instructions
- Ensure which drum and rope is coiled as per work instructions
- Ensure stowage of sleeve safely
- Ensure snatch block is free from dust and sowed safely
- Ensure units is covered by safety canvass when not in use.
- Ensure units are deployed to correct vessels and bollard as advised by Port Control
- Ensure times are logged into logbook and communicated to Port Control
- Ensure times of operationalisation are communicated to the Pilot on duty
- Ensure that alarm monitoring system is active and can be monitored remotely.
Qualifications & Experience:
Standard Job Requirements
- Grade 10
- Driver’s license code 14
- Forklift license
- Jip crane license added advantage
