Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Maintaining, repairing, overhauling and constructing of mainly TM3 machinery and associated underground operational equipment as well as Hydraulic equipment to standard
- Supervising and training of staff under his/her responsibility
- Planning and arranging that all required maintenance programs on all Site machinery, including all trackless equipment, is executed
- Team and self-understand and comply with M&RC`s policy and procedures, standard and safety protocol
- Proactive risk identification and mitigation in alignment with legal regulations, the client’s and M&RC’s standards, procedures and policies
- Effective self and team management in alignment with M&RC’s values and leadership initiatives
Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF4)
- Section 26 Fitter/Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate / MIETTB (Mining Industry Trades Training Board)/ Trade Certificate through a registered body
- Valid Medical certificate of Fitness
- Covid-19 Coronavirus Vaccination Certificate [Site Specific]
- Valid First aid Certificate
- Valid Code EB driver’s license
- Sound verbal and written communication skills in English
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- 5 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic
- 5 years of mining industry experience (underground and surface)
- Good working experience in fault finding and hydraulics
- Ability to interpret the Hydraulics plan
- Knowledge of Diesel Mechanics, Face Drill, Roof Bolter, LHD`s Utility Vehicle, Manitou’s and LDV
- Experience with Battery Electric Vehicles will be added advantage
