ALSTOM: Jigs and Tools Technician

PURPOSE AND MISSION OF THE JOB:

Manage the methods and manufacturing processes to optimize production QCD performance (organization of the work, tooling and processes). In this respect the person in charge complies with Ethics and Compliance policies.

KEY RESPOBSIBILITIES:

  • Making sure that jigs & tools are in conformity operational requirements and maintenance plan.
  • Follow up of the status of the jigs & tools and maintain the highest level of availability.
  • Analysing drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Programming of CNC Milling Machines and CMM machines
  • Optimisation of machining times
  • Reading of technical drawings
  • Analyse product measurement reports and ensure product conformance
  • Improving tools and fixtures (clamping) where needed
  • Train personnel on proper operational procedures
  • Manage Tools (jigs, fixtures etc) and Equipment lists or database

BUSINESS UNDERSTANDING AND DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant Diploma / Degree (preferably Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics) CNC machinist

EXPERIENCE

  • Industrial background with 3-5 years’ experiences\ preferably in the railway industry or maintenance department
  • Knowledge of robotics and servicing CNC,3D metrology systems
  • Advanced knowledge of machine programming (welding robots, CNC, 3D measurements)
  • Strong communication skills at all levels and ability to communicate technical information
  • Writing and improving manufacturing and/or maintenance work instructions
  • Working knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety standards and systems
  • Must display high levels of integrity, ethics and morals
  • Must be flexible to work outside of normal operational boundaries to support team targets
