We’re on the lookout for an experienced Winder Operator KLB (PTS) to form part of the Winder team and achieve the overall winder targets, with shared and specific responsibilities, to focus on quality control as well as recording paper production on the Product Tracking System (PTS).
As a Winder Operator KLB (PTS), you will be responsible for:
- Register paper on the PTS and Roll Set data on the Metso system, as per Master Production Schedule and forward making plan.
- Monitor the quality of paper being produced at the Pope and the Winder against standards and reports any abnormalities to the Winderman and Shift Superintendent.
- Enter status of paper on the PTS after consulting with the Shift Superintendent and ensure that the paper is run off according to the decision Pass/Cull or Recovery.
- Ensure that all webs for retesting are marked “On Hold”, take samples of these reels to the lab and communicate the results with the Shift Superintendent for a final decision.
What are we looking for?
- Grade 12 (Maths and Science) or N3 Pulp and Paper
- Minimum 1 year experience working on a Paper Machine manufacturing process
