Purpose of the Job
- The purpose of this role is to perform inspections, maintenance, installations, restoration, and repairs of mechanical equipment across the fabrication, fitting and testing plants.
- Supports operations to ensure that operational efficiencies, volume, quality, and productivity targets are met
- Performs mechanical isolations and applies for permit to work
- Understands and puts into practice all codes, standards, and procedures for safe work
- Carries out mechanical component inspections and reports on performance issues
Education
- Matric or equivalent
- Mechanical Trade Test (Fitter and Turner)
- 5 years’ post trade test experience within a manufacturing environment
- 3 years’ experience maintaining and repairing spot welding equipment, hydraulic presses, and power packs

- Accountable to ensure that the plant is in working order from a mechanical perspective to minimize downtime and faults.
