Full Job Description
- Assist the holder of the blasting certificate (Miner) in carrying out duties and responsibilities within your area of responsibility.
- Comply with Health and Safety regulations in regard to the Explosives Act.
- Receive, store and issue explosives and accessories
- Assist the miner in the preparation of primers
- Charge shot holes
- Assist the miner with final connections and timing blast rounds
- Grade 9 or equivalent ABET Level 4
- Certificate of Competency for Blasting Assistants (U/G), MQA accredited
- Competent B Certificate advantageous
- Must be able to obtain a Certificate of Fitness to work in Mines if successful
- Minimum 1 year’s operational experience as a Blasting or Miner’s Assistant
- Clear criminal recor
