Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Production
Start up boiler as per procedure
Maintain steam pressure at all times
Ensure correct coal bed thickness
Soot blow when required and per procedure
Blow down main valve as per procedure
Blow down sight glasses as per procedure
Blow down mowbeys as per procedure
Ensure that Boiler is fed with coal at all times
Ensure that brine tank has salt and the softener is functioning correctly
Submit water reading to Process Controller and ensure Boiler log book are filled in
Maintenance and House Keeping:
Maintain and improve on housekeeping standards at all times in and around your working area
Report any defects to Process Controller
Working Habits:
Treat all colleagues, co-workers, and visitors with dignity and respect
Punctual and dependable in terms of work attendance
Show initiative and action generally based on good and acceptable reasoning
Show interest and enthusiasm in work
Shoe willingness to go the extra mile
Promote cooperation and goodwill within the department
Seek additional responsibilities
Minimum Requirements
Qualification and Experience:
Matric
Relevant tertiary qualification
2-3 years experience in the field
