POSITION DETAILS
- Interact with Weld Surveillance Inspectors in all areas by investigating and improving weld concerns raised by them.
- Support Welding Engineer to close 7030 weld concern reports.
- Support Welding Engineer to close weld flash report concerns.
- Manage tear down work schedule.
- Audit robot weld guns for electrode alignment, tip dress conditions and weld positions.
- Weld Process Audits.
- Support Maintenance and Weld Integrity Engineer with G8D on welding concerns
- Update weld schedule cards by using Weld-net
- Correct weld schedules (BOSCH Weld controllers)
- Do all SPL training and ensure implementation thereof.
- Shadow the welding engineer to gain useful work-related skills.
- Attend to FCPA weld related findings.
- Do Periodical Job Observations and process confirmation.
- Support with the creation of repair standards.
- Assist with the facilitation of weld repairs.
- Weld corrections based on destructive test findings.
- Update Weld Cross Reference Lists.
- Support all ANDON activity’s
- Weld position touch-ups (Robot teaching – Kawasaki))
- Robot weld gun zeroing (Kawasaki)
- Current & Force calibration on robot weld guns
- Tip life optimization
PERFORMANCE MEASURES/ SUCCESS CRITERIA
- 7030 Performance to Closure
- Welding Quality inspector file audits to schedule
- Weld inspection optimization improvement
- Percentage expulsion
- Amount of Quality stops
- Percentage adaptive welding activation
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES (KSA)
- Experience in Resistance Spot Welding within an automotive Industry.
- Kawasaki robot programming experience
- Manufacturing Engineering Knowledge and Experience in Automotive Industry
- Knowledge and experience of Welding technology within a Body Shop environment.
QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
- National Diploma: Engineering (Mechatronics) / N6 with Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal)
- 3 Years resistance welding experience
- Minimum of 2-3 years within the Automotive Industry
