MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
- Tertiary qualification In electrical engineering (degree, diploma or national certificate) and up to 5-10 years’ experience as electrician in maintenance or manufacturing plant;
- N4 minimum N5 preference;
- Electrical Trade Test (Red Seal);
- MV switching;
- Basic PLC knowledge (Siemens);
- Beneficial to have second trade such as Millwright Trade Test (Red Seal).
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Electrical and machinery repair knowledge – Able to understand and correctly apply good techniques to construction;
- Knowledge of planned and emergency maintenance – Able to solve repair and maintenance problems;
- Compliance certification – Able to ensure that machinery in the plant is maintained in compliance with standards and regulations;
- Fault finding knowledge – Able to identify and rectify faults on machinery;
- Tool knowledge – Discern which tools would be most adapt for a job;
- Preferably experience in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures using testing devices such as Ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of system (at least 5 years’ experience);
- Ability to transfer technical knowledge to fellow employees;
- Guiding and coaching junior employees.

- Computer literate;
