Job Description
Join Lactalis at our Bonnievale Plant in the Engineering department with the main responsibilities to assist the electricians with maintenance of electrical reticulation system, installation of new electrical panels or equipment, cables and control systems. The individual’s main area of responsibility will be to assist the electrician with his day to day task for the complete plant. Ensure that the Electricians’ area of responsibility is kept clean and tidy The candidate will be responsible for schedule maintenance of electrical systems. Comply too safe standard working procedures. Must have at least 2 years experiences within maintenance environment. Must have N1/N2 Electrical certificate or equivalent. Basic understanding and experience of electrical systems. Be fluent in English and be computer literate.
Required Skills
- Grade 12 and N1/N2 Electrical certificate or equivalent
- Must have at least basic experience in the maintenance and understanding of electrical systems
- At least 2 years experiences within a maintenance environment
- Good problem solving and decision making skills
- To be a team player
- Must be able to work shifts, overtime, on weekends and public holidays
- Must be willing to work in an extremely humid environment
- Must not be afraid of heights
- Physical strength and good health
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
Duties & Responsibilities
- To assist with maintenance of reticulation system.
- To assist with replacement of faulty components.
- To assist electrician with daily tasks and inspections. Maintenance of insect flycatchers, lights etc.
- Reset of tripped equipment.
- Fault finding on electrical systems with improvements and repair.
- Assist in testing of generators on a weekly basis and ensuring that system is in good working order.
- Ensure that all electrical panels is neat and tidy, panels kept closed or locked where applicable.
- Adhere to quality and food safety standards.
- Adhere to NOSA and ISO 45000 implementation
