Job Summary:
The Laboratory Services Department has a vacancy for a Technical Assistant at its Laboratory in Centurion, Gauteng to ensure the correct application of standards and protocols within the PPECB’s statutory mandate.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Compliance to statutory requirements;
- Sample preparation of groundnut samples for mycotoxin analysis – slurry/ homogenize / milling;
- Dispatch prepared samples to Laboratory;
- Temperature monitoring of sample storage freezer;
- Stock control;
- Chemical storage – labelling and storage
Job Requirements
- Minimum qualification of Grade 12; and
- Laboratory related experience.
Skills and Attributes that would be advantageous:
- Experience in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory;
- Well developed interpersonal skills;
- Organizing and Planning;
- Sound technical record keeping skills; and
- Ability to work under pressure.
