Requirements
- Plumbing Trade Test certificate in accordance with S26D of the
Skills Development Act, Act 97 of 1998. (Red seal)
- Up to two (2) years’ post-apprenticeship experience
- NQF 3/ Grade 12 will be advantageous
- Valid Code C driver’s license
- PrDP will be advantageous
- SAP literacy will be advantageous
- Knowledge of reticulation networks and plumbing/construction
processes as well as Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Successful candidate/s will be:
- Required to be physically fit and able bodied. Must be able to lift
heavy manhole covers, carry heavy equipment and fit into
confined spaces.
- Required to work in all weather conditions
- Required to work standby, outside normal working hours during
emergencies and planned overtime.
- Must be prepared to enter confined areas.
Key Performance Areas
- Planned and predictive maintenance to ensure that maintenance
cycles and work procedures are implemented
- Fault-finding to ensure faults are detected, effectively repaired and
functionality restored with minimal disruption to services
- Supervision and administration to ensure that tasks, instructions
and findings are coordinated, communicated and understood
- Capturing information to ensure details of activities are accurately
recorded
- Ensuring a safe work environment through the application of health
and safety regulations
