Main purpose of the role:

To manage all in and outbound operations functions of our Book Distribution effort from initial stock engagement to dispatch from Book Operations Hub to Retail, with focus on Reverse Logistics receiving from Retail which includes Inventory management and accurate stock control to identify misplaced stock or stock in shortage and damaged stock.

Key responsibilities:

BOOK INVENTORY MANAGEMENT.

  • Manage all Book Inventory from receipt from CT Bulk to dispatch and return to CT Bulk
  • Handle any query with regard to stock movements from the client service department/account manager, checking for discrepancies/shortages/queries, and providing feedback to the client services department/account manager.
  • Conduct regular counts as per pre-defined count schedule.
  • If the stock cannot be found, make the necessary adjustments on the relevant Warehouse Management system.
  • Provide input for weekly and monthly scheduled and Adhoc reporting.
  • Participate in stock take, including coordinating the paper flow during stock take, stock capturing, and running of reports.
  • Ensure a clean and dust free Book storage environment of all Book Inventory

PICK AND PACK

  • Pick and pack all RO and Rpl stock and place on designated outbound pallets per route
  • Successful outbound pallet management and collection of full Book on sale schedule per route

MANAGE REFUSAL STOCK

  • Provide a weekly retailer refusal report by Route with reason for refusal

Load refusal stock in Warehouse Management system; Plant Counted Stock

  • REVERSE LOGISTICS BOOK RECEIVING
  • Record all Depot & ISP Receiving on an Excel Master
  • Successfully collate all Book receiving and allocate to appropriate storage i.e. Depot VS Bulk
  • Books received cleaned and placed in appropriate storage within 12 hours with counts to Book team every Friday in am
  • Proactively keeping an awareness of possible stock misplacement to be rectified and reported; and re-allocated to correct storage location in Book Operations Hub

Requirements

  • Grade 12/NQF 4 equivalent.
  • 1-2 years’ administration experience, preferably in a distribution/warehousing environment.
  • Must be proficient in WMS; Highly proficient in relevant software packages and applications
