Introduction:
Komatsu has an opportunity for a qualified Heavy Earthmoving Mechanic to join our team at our Western Cape branch in Namakwa Sands. The successful candidate must have 3 years of experience in the heavy earthmoving/mining equipment industry and a Trade Certificate as a Heavy Earthmoving Mechanic.
Qualification:
- N3/ Grade 12
- Trade Certificate as Heavy Earthmoving Mechanic
Experience:
Internal candidate: completed Komatsu apprentice program.
External candidate: 3 years’ expyearse in the earthmoving/mining equipment industry.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plans for health checks and inspection of equipment (new and used in stock).
- Conducts visual machine/equipment inspection – Health condition – Breakdowns.
- Tests and adjusts faulty components/parts/ systems.
- Plans for repairs of equipment (new and used in stock), with regaraboutrkshops, the nomination of service, stock, and other resources.
- Confirming full functionality of equipment/components using specialized testing equipment.
- Assessing work/materials/items/parts required to resolve the problem.
- Carrying out the full service according to operations & maintenance manual.
- Plans assembly of new equipment & Pre-Delivery Inspections in conjunction with the foreman/manager.
- Diagnosing fault codes, operating parameters, etc. on the monitor panel.
- Plans for an overhaul of equipment with regarconcerningkshop, materials/parts, working time & gain approval.
- Obtains all relevant manuals and resources and makes this available for the execution of work.
