Purpose of the Positions
- The Successful intern will be expected to enter into a 12 month fixed-term contract commencing on the 1st of March 2024 and terminating on the 28 February 2025.
- The intention is to give practical work experience to students who are currently studying towards a formal Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification.
Key Learning Areas include (but are not limited to):
- Plant Maintenance
- Plant Operation
- Utilities and Facilities
- General administrative assistance
- Sustainability improvements
- Profit improvement projects
- Machine efficiency improvement projects
- ISO 14001 implementation
To qualify for selection and participation in this programme, candidates must satisfy the following criteria:
- Excellent academic record and in final year of obtaining tertiary qualification – Engineering degree or diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering
- No work experience in the field is required
- Computer literacy – Microsoft Suit (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Sound communication and presentation skills;
- Effective time management;
- Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure.
- Ability to work in a team
- South African citizen;
Prospective interns must submit the following:
- Covering letter/ Motivational letter,
- A curriculum vitae,
- Certified Academic record,
- Certified Grade 12,
- A letter from the tertiary institution,
- A format for evaluation, required by the tertiary institution,
- Certified copies of Identity Document.
