VKB Group: Engineering Interns

Duties and Responsibilities

Please note the tasks outlined below will be performed under the guidance and supervision of the applicable trainer, until such a time the candidate is signed off as fully competent in all areas:

  • Accurate data capturing.
  • Opening and closing of job cards.
  • Scanning documents onto File Director.
  • General filing of documents within required deadline.
  • Compiling Reports and taking minutes.
  • Daily checking to ensure that all engineering downtime reported on production sheets are fully captured on the CMMS.
  • Review the planning department’s weekly performance as required.
  • Ensure daily compliance to work planning and control procedure.
  • Assist in planning and administration of statutory inspections.
  • Provide On-Key (CMMS) support to users.
  • Participating in relevant daily production/engineering review meetings and following up on any requests raised in the meetings.
  • Keeping a filing system in place for easy access to any information needed by management or auditors.
  • Keeping attendance records.
  • Periodic review of preventive maintenance schedules and keeping a record thereof.
  • Ensure maintenance personnel understand required job card detail and importance of information.
  • Ensure all relevant performance measurement data/graphs by means of daily, weekly and monthly reports.
  • Ensure correct capturing procedures are being followed on On-Key.
  • Ensure all data is entered systematically, accurately and verified regularly.
  • Other Administrative within the Engineering Department.
  • Any other duties as may be required by management.

Skills Required

  • High level of computer literacy and the ability to learn how to use the On Key System and other relevant Engineering Dept. Systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with colleagues at all levels.
  • Able to work appropriately with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Analytical and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Thorough approach to work.
  • Excellent organisational skills including ability to manage time and prioritise effectively.
