RCL FOODS is seeking an experienced Fitter (Mechanical) to join our Baking Division based in Pretoria West. The purpose of the role is to perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the machines does not deteriorate
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the machines does not deteriorate.
Inspect drives, motors, belts, bearings, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions following checklists.
Assemble, install and/or repair, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
Ensure that your department complies with all Health and Safety requirements.
Diagnose and correct mechanical problems.
Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions.
Direct and train workers to install, and maintain, mechanical equipment.
Record maintenance and repair work performed.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of the machinery.
Perform general machining on the lathe and milling machine as required by the engineering team.
Minimum Requirements
5 years of experience post-trade test.
N3 Mechanical Engineering plus qualified Fitter/Millwright/ Fitter and Turner.
Experience in Slicing & Bagging Machines will be an advantage.
Knowledge in welding, machining, cutting, compressors, and conveyor belts.
Bakery equipment.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Ability to communicate on all levels.
Ability to work systematically and good people skills.
Ability to prioritize workload.
Report writing and analysis.
Mentoring apprentices.
Must be able to work shifts and be available on callouts and standby.
Be able to comply with Food safety standards, and previous FMCG experience will be an advantage.
