- Install new equipment, conduct routine maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment faults on site.
- Remove and dispose of old equipment according to company policy.
- Complete the Maintenance Checklist for each project and submit to line manager.
- Perform quality inspections in retail outlets and raise any concerns with line manager.
- Ensure maintenance is carried out according to the Maintenance Plan.
- Design wiring diagrams for electrical equipment including but not limited to inverters.
- Complete maintenance and installation of power backup generators, electric fence, and inverters
- Complete all job cards allocated from the Maintenance Tracker including travelling to retail outlets to perform allocated maintenance tasks.
- Ensure all projects are kept on track and that deadlines are met to eliminate penalties.
- Maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair equipment without causing extended equipment downtime.
- Ensure compliance to shopping mall house rules and provide feedback to the line manager of any infringements.
- Issue Electrical Certificates of Compliance from Electrical Contractors Association (SA)
- Monitor the work performed, receive Certificates of Compliance from contractors, submit copies to the Landlord and retain a colour copy for company records, on an annual basis.
- Report any potential maintenance concerns observed while performing planned maintenance or repairs.
- Review in store file and ensure that all documentation is up to date and meets all compliance requirements.
- Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained including but not limited to ensuring all areas are free from wrapping, waste, and materials.
- Ensure all equipment and machinery are well maintained, always secured, and properly stored.
- Ensure that all machinery is checked and in good working condition prior to usage.
- Operate all machinery according to standard operating procedures and in compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Perform maintenance and or repairs for which the relevant qualification or authorisation is obtained.
- Provide technical support and training on new equipment.
- Provide staff training on equipment operating procedures.
- Respond to callouts in stores and head office.
- Load and off load vehicles
- Ensure that all loaded goods are properly secured.
- Ensure the loading checklist is fully completed and signed off.
- Maintain and clean the vehicle by washing it once a week, inside and outside, and ensure that the cargo area is cleaned and maintained to acceptable standards daily.
- Maintain various files and records (e.g., generator service logbook, traveling logs, diesel consumptions logs, after filing up etc.) document activities, and provide materials and reliable resource information.
- Maintain vehicle (e.g., checking fluid levels, fuelling, cleaning, etc.) and ensuring the safe operation of the vehicle.
- Represent the Brand and always behave in a professional manner.
- Follow best practices for safety, both on the road, while loading or unloading a truck and when parking the vehicle.
- Be flexible in assisting with general duties within the department based on operational requirements outside daily roles and responsibilities.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent required.
- Electrician with 3 phase wireman’s licence
- A qualified electrician trained by the Electrical Contractors Association of South Africa
- Qualified to issue Certificate of Compliance (COC) approved by ECA for retail outlets and head office environments.
- Driver’s license: Code 10 is required
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience working as a qualified electrician is required.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience working with a technical team is required.
- Minimum 5+ years shop fitting experiences an advantage.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience with the installation, maintenance and diagnostics of electrical equipment and machinery in a facilities and property management environment is required.
- Property maintenance experience in a retail environment required.
- Toolbox management required.
- Experience working in a ‘on-call’ environment is required.
- Experience with drafting an electrical wiring specification document is required.
- Good understanding and working experience of OHASA a requirement
