Our client in Centurion is looking for a Maintenance Assistant.
This person will be working with the Maintenance Supervisor to perform maintenance and repairs to plant and equipment. It is extremely important that this person has their own vehicle and licence, as the expectation is that they will be on call and be able to attend to urgent maintenance issues after hours. This also means that they have to stay a reasonable distance from the factory if they have to travel after hours.
Duties
- Inspecting, repairing, and maintaining equipment, plant, and machinery
- Completing scheduled maintenance tasks
- Conducting preventative maintenance and identifying when items need upgrading or replacing.
- General maintenance to office and factory.
- Reporting and feedback of all maintenance efforts.
- Tend to callouts in the event of a breakdown.
Profile
- The ideal candidate has experience in mechanical, electrical and general maintenance activities.
- Skilled in working with hand tools and power tools.
- A technical qualification and experience in the plastics industry will be an added advantage.
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn the working and troubleshooting of equipment and machinery.
- Own transport to tend to after hour callouts.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
