Reporting to the Technical Support Manager, the position will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical plants, machinery, and equipment as per prescribed designs, engineering drawings, and/or plant measurements.
- Manufacturing, installation, fitting, turning, and assembly of mechanical equipment and parts.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and process equipment malfunctions.
- Repair and maintain equipment using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Install new equipment following specifications and technical drawings.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
- Adhere to strict safety standards and procedures.
- Implement safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve production goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist artisans, technicians, and Project Team.
- General work.
The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications and experience:
- Grade 12.
- Trade Test Certificate (Qualified Artisan – Fitter and/or Turner).
- 5+ years of fitting and turning work experience.
- Good knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatics systems.
- Thorough understanding of mechanical and process equipment principles.
- Computer literate with design software will be advantageous
- Safety courses will be advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- A valid driver’s license
