We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled worker to assist in designing, manufacturing, installing and maintaining various pieces of equipment as needed. We are looking for an individual that is eager and willing to learn as the skilled worker will be trained to overlap and assist with tasks within the technical department. We are looking for a fit individual with excellent analytical problem-solving skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the specialist in installing new technical equipment which includes : Pumps , pipes motors, valves, etc
• To help the specialist carry out maintenance tasks to ensure the integrity and operation of the equipment in operation
• Ensure the continuous supply of seawater and all to all operations as required.
• keep required operational logs up to date and interpret basic information
• Carry out planned maintenance tasks as per the maintenance program
• Recognise problem areas and inefficiencies and suggest solutions
• Be able to safely work with specialised equipment and tools needed to diagnose and repair the equipment
• Be able to diagnose and do running repairs as needed
• Daily record keeping and completion of checklists
• complete job cards as required
• Compiling a list of materials needed to carry out work as required for issuing requisition.

Desired Experience and Qualification

• Matric or certificate equivalent to Grade 12.
• Related technical Certificate
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication, time management and organization skills
• The ability to concentrate for extended period
• Experience using hand and power tools
