Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Engineering installations are constructed according to agreed standards, procedures and specification
- Engineering equipment is maintained and repaired according to agreed standards and schedules
- Compliance with SHEQ, M&RC and client standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols
- Cost containment, high mean time to failure after repairs
- Effective stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflows
- Competent, motivated, disciplined and positive team
- Effective self and team supervision in alignment with MRC values and leadership initiatives
Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF4)
- Section 26 Fitter Trade Certificate / MIETTB (Mining Industry Engineering Trades Training Board)
- Trade Certificate through a registered body, e.g.:(i) Olifantsfontein, pre 1994
- (ii) ESTC (Engineering Skills Training Centre) James Park
- (iii)GFA (Goldfields Training Academy)
- Contract of Apprenticeship signed off by employer and Department of Manpower
- Valid Medical certificate of Fitness
- Valid First aid Certificate and valid Code EB driver’s license
- Analytical with attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and fault-finding from drawings
- Hazard identification, planning and organising skills
- Good English written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- 5 years of mining industry experience (underground and surface)
- 5 years of trade experience as a Fitter
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, conveyors and inspections [Advanced preferre
