Purpose of the position:
The intention is to give practical work experience to students who are in their final year/completed their studies and require exposure in a work environment or practical work experience to obtain their qualification. Successful interns will be expected to enter a 12-month contract commencing 01 April 2024 and terminating on 31 March 2025.
Key Learning Areas include (but are not limited to):
- Quality Control and Assurance (Intrinsic and extrinsic control, Quality Management Systems; etc)
- Research and development.
- Production and process
To qualify for selection and participation in this programme, candidates must satisfy the following criteria:
- South African Citizen
- Satisfactory academic record and in final year of obtaining relevant tertiary qualification or completed (National Diploma/ Degree in Chemical engineering, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Food technology, or any other relevant Life Science/Engineering qualification).
- Basic computer literacy.
- Sound communication and presentation skills.
- Effective time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to cope with inherent physical demands of the position.
- Willing and able to work extended hours.
- Reliable transport to and from place of work.
- Must be willing, able, and committed to enter and complete 12-month internship programme.
Prospective interns must submit the following documents:
- Covering letter/ Motivational letter,
- A curriculum vitae,
- Academic record i.e., Certified Grade 12 certificate and tertiary academic transcript.
- A letter from the tertiary institution, stating Inservice Training requirements and the format for evaluation,
- A format for evaluation, required by the tertiary institution,
- Certified copies of Identity Document
