Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 – 2 years relevant industry experience in
Telecommunications Two-Way Mobile Radio installations
and High Sites environment.
- Computer literacy
- A valid driver’s licence
- Must be physically fit and able bodied to climb heights and to
carry heavy equipment and tools
- Must be willing to work overtime and standby.
Key Performance Areas
- Assist with TETRA radio field work to ensure that TETRA mobile
radio installations and repairs are performed in accordance
with the approved standards, regulations and procedures.
- Assist Technician with base radios to ensure that TETRA base
radio installations and repairs are performed in accordance
with the approved standards, regulations and procedures.
- To ensure that TETRA and analogue radio infrastructure
systems, installations and repairs are performed in accordance
with the approved standards, regulations and procedures.
- Perform inspection checks and general housekeeping of
radio high site facilities.
- Perform maintenance of repeater site masts and towers,
power supply systems and generators by carrying out
generator refuelling tasks.
- Perform General Radio Administration which include
minor job related reports, material requirements and daily
inspections of the department’s service vehicles and creating
