EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- At least a Matric/Grade 12.
- N1 or N2 Mechanical Certificate
- Minimum of 3
- 5 years’ work experience in a Machinery maintenance role.
Other Skills Required
- Ability to work power tools and hand tools
- Physically fit
Language Skills
Level 3
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organisation.
Numerical Skills
Level 2
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Level 3
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardised situations
Licences
- Forklift license (advantageous)
Computer Skill
- Basic computer literacy skills (advantageous)
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is:
- Often required to stand and walk.
- Often required to climb, stoop, kneel or crawl.
- Sometime required to lift weight of up to 50kg.
- Often working in highly dusty areas and in confined spaces.
- Required to work shift hours.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include colour (for colour coding bags etc.) vision.
