The position exists to ensure the safe and efficient installation, maintenance and repairs of all steel pipes, chutes, conveyors and other mining and construction beneficiation plant equipment and specialized steel manufacturing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Health and safety

• Ensure to wear correct PPE at all times.
• Attend pre-shift meetings
• Report unsafe conditions and behavior
• Adhere to FA and client policies and procedures
• Always behave safe

Maintenance and fabrication

• Implement maintenance schedules
• Maintains/repairs all mechanical equipment
• Conduct plant inspection on all key mechanical equipment
• Identifies and prioritize equipment in need of maintenance/ repairs
• Plans down time for repairs/maintenance
• Conducting risk assessment and study procedures
• Fabricate general steelwork

Qualifications

• Grade 12/Matric
• N3 Mechanical Engineering
• Trade test- Boilermaker (MQA/MERSETA preferred)

Experience

• 5 years minimum post trade test experience as Boilermaker (Section 13 Artisan)
• 2year Learnerships/Apprentice in Mining or Construction

• Advanced understanding of planned maintenance documentation and procedures
• Advanced planning skills
• Risk assessment skills
• Boilermaker Foreman skills
• Valid Drivers license
