Introduction
Umfolozi Sugar Mill (Pty) Ltd situated in Zululand, 30 km’s from St Lucia and 48 km’s from Richards Bay has a vacancy in the Extraction Section. The interested persons must be self-motivated, proactive, energetic, a team player and with passion for good housekeeping and safety. Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman (Extraction), the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for but not limited to the maintenance and servicing of the front-end, diffuser, and auxiliary equipment
Desired Experience & Qualification
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Matric plus N4 in mechanical engineering / fitting.
- Completed an apprenticeship in mechanical fitting / fitter & turner.
- A recognized Trade Test certificate, mechanical fitting / fitter & turner.
- At least 5 years mechanical fitting experience in heavy industrial environment.
- A good knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Knowledge of Front-End Equipment (dewatering mills, turbines & carriers) will be advantageous.
- Good understanding of the principles and techniques associated with condition based monitoring and modern alignment.
- Computer literate & conversant with planned maintenance system.
- Ability to read and understand drawings and diagrams.
- Good fault-finding / problem solving skills.
- Sugar Mill experience will be advantageous.
- Basic rigging and turning experience will be an added advantage
