Kimberly Clark: Shift Mechanical Technician

About the position:

Safely and efficiently perform maintenance and repairs on all mechanical and related equipment. Drive improved equipment reliability and availability by ensuring proactive upkeep of mechanical and related assets.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Safety:
  • Comply with all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) rules and regulations at all times. (e.g.10 critical safety rules and three obligations)
  • Ensure safety job cards are completed in a timely manner.
  • Daily plant safety assessments
  • Completion of task risk assessments prior to performing any work.

 

  • Quality:
  • Report and correct defective equipment
  • Carry out daily checks and completion of check-sheets
  • Ensure no reworks or repeat failures
  • Exhibit good fault finding skills –standard approach e.g. 4SPS
  • Ensure all job cards are completed and inputted timeously.
  • Ensure full SAP utilization.

    Housekeeping:

  • Maintain world class levels of housekeeping according to the 5’s housekeeping standards
    Productivity:
  • Repairs, replacements, adjustments, installations, removals and overhauls, etc. on all forms of mechanical equipment and related equipment.
  • Maintains a wide range of mechanical equipment such as pumps, fans, rolls, bearings, belts, chains, etc.
  • Ensures adequate quality assurance and quality control on all work.
  • Non-conformance reporting.
  • Works with Team Leaders and Engineers to resolve reliability issues.
  • Provides support to planned maintenance shuts and machine start-ups/shut-downs.
  • Plant shut-down input and planning
  • Ensures critical equipment spare parts are checked and available
  • Support operating teams to achieve set KPI’s
