About the position:
Safely and efficiently perform maintenance and repairs on all mechanical and related equipment. Drive improved equipment reliability and availability by ensuring proactive upkeep of mechanical and related assets.
Main Responsibilities
- Safety:
- Comply with all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) rules and regulations at all times. (e.g.10 critical safety rules and three obligations)
- Ensure safety job cards are completed in a timely manner.
- Daily plant safety assessments
- Completion of task risk assessments prior to performing any work.
- Quality:
- Report and correct defective equipment
- Carry out daily checks and completion of check-sheets
- Ensure no reworks or repeat failures
- Exhibit good fault finding skills –standard approach e.g. 4SPS
- Ensure all job cards are completed and inputted timeously.
- Ensure full SAP utilization.
Housekeeping:
- Maintain world class levels of housekeeping according to the 5’s housekeeping standards
Productivity: - Repairs, replacements, adjustments, installations, removals and overhauls, etc. on all forms of mechanical equipment and related equipment.
- Maintains a wide range of mechanical equipment such as pumps, fans, rolls, bearings, belts, chains, etc.
- Ensures adequate quality assurance and quality control on all work.
- Non-conformance reporting.
- Works with Team Leaders and Engineers to resolve reliability issues.
- Provides support to planned maintenance shuts and machine start-ups/shut-downs.
- Plant shut-down input and planning
- Ensures critical equipment spare parts are checked and available
- Support operating teams to achieve set KPI’s
