Your role will:
- Perform trade related assembly, maintenance, and repair of mechanical aspects of equipment and parts according to maintenance requirements,
- Read, interpret, and assemble trade specific items according to design diagrams and drawings,
- Agility to adapt to changing production schedules and priorities,
- Propose design improvements and best practices in mechanical assembly methods and processes, for a more efficient manufacturing process,
- Contribute towards improvements in assembly procedures and safe work procedures/instructions .
- Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures, Ensure adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and legal requirements
Qualifications
-Formal qualifications and experience:
- N6 or National Diploma Mechanical Engineering qualification. A mechanical trade certificate will be highly recommended
- 5 year’s or more in post qualification experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous
- Computer literate in the Microsoft suite of packages
- Effective communication skills in English (written and verbal)
Additional requirements:
- Valid Code 08/EB Driver’s License will be advantageous.

- Understanding of a mechanical artisan trade requirements, standards, and concepts
- Ability to plan and organize work
- Adaptive to continuously changing work priorities
- Flexible with the ability to work with different professionals on multiple/varied tasks
- Assembly knowledge De Beers Technologies upstream products would be advantageous
- Ability to work within a team – maintains and nurtures good working relationships
- Understand and satisfy internal customer requirements
- Raise production related problems and provide assembly progress updates to management.
