Position Outputs
Provide expert advice and support on electronic and control system design, integration, and testing on Rolling Stock and Port equipment.
Ensure compliance and conformity to Industry directives, standards, and regulations. Develop or debug various software/firmware applications.
Conduct lab testing and experiments as per requirements specifications.
Compile System Integration and Verification specifications. Develop Conceptual Designs and Technical Specifications.
Develop tender specification documents to support manufacturing business and assist with technical evaluations.
Identify resource requirements (Budget, Human Resources, Tools, and Instrument) and report to the Principal Engineer.
Apply specialist skills in Rolling Stock Equipment Product Integration, Assurance, and Support for manufacturing.
Develop and implement the product quality indicators in accordance with Transnet directives, local and international regulations and legislation, local and international standards, and specifications.
Coach and mentor young trainees through to becoming system integration experts, test engineers, and professionals in their field.
Qualifications and Experience
BEng/ BSc Electronic or Electrical Engineering ▪ ISTQB certification (or similar) will be added advantage ▪ Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Engineering in a large organisation with a complex operations environment ▪ Experience in control system related design or testing in the rolling stock or ports equipment environment.
