Education
Essential:
- Eligible for professional registration as a Technician at the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA);
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering at NQF level 6.
Advantageous:
- Clinical Engineering with two years additional experience and training in the maintenance and management of medical equipment in a Hospital environment
- Member of the South African Association of Clinical Engineers (CEASA).
Work experience
Essential:
- 1 year experience in maintenance and management of medical equipment in hospitals.
Knowledge
Essential:
- Intermediate computer literacy in MS Office.
- Familiar with the Occupational Health & Safety- and Health Act regulations
Advantageous:
- Good communication skills and the ability to transfer information through practical interaction with a wide range of staff.
- Good verbal and written skills.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions.
- Ability and willingness to be on stand-by and partake in a call-out system.
- Continuous interaction with suppliers and attendance of technology updates are to form an integral part of continuous education and training.
